[Caitlin would be waiting at a table, still in her lab coat and looking a little nervous. She had never really been guardian to a young person before. A kid. She has no idea how to take care of a kid. She figures if she could get to know Frankie Kane, she would be able to get to know Riley pretty well, possibly.]

[ And here comes Riley, equally as nervous. After all, not only is this going to be her second guardian in as many months, but her first guardian left her an entire house. So, more than a bit nervous. But here comes this girl in a colorful dress who joins Caitlin at her table. ]

[Her eyes are wide because well. Colorful dress. Caitlin gives a nervous smile]

Hi. Um. I'm Caitlin. Obviously. Did you order anything yet? My treat.

[ Here, Caitlin. Have a grin. ]

Not yet, but I will. It's nice to meet you, Caitlin.

[She follows the kid up to the counter to order]

Any reccomendations?

The hot chocolate's pretty good.

Two hot chocolates, please.

[True to her word. caitlin does pay for both hot chocolates]

So how old are you, exactly? i'm kind of new to this whole guardian thing.

I just turned sixteen. So, really, it's not that big of a deal. [ She's not, for instance, completely incapable of taking care of most of her own needs. ]

So what does all that mean, then?

[ Riley shrugged. ]

I guess it's up to you? Eugene left me his house, if you wanted to move there. Or I could go to your place...?

[snowandfrost]

Uh...my place is just a one room yurt, I'm afraid. I...if you don't mind, I could move out to that house. What happened with Eugene?

I don't mind! It's a big house, it's kind of weird being there alone. If you don't mind my friend, Maya, coming in all the time anyway.

[ Another shrug. ]

He and his wife decided they wanted to move back to his world.

Why doesn't Maya live there with us?

How many rooms is it?

She has her own guardian. Three, kind of. One of the deputies, the thing in his head and one of the town councilors.

Three, maybe four. And there's a cat. Are you allergic?

[snowandfrost]

I'm not allergic to cats but would you be all right with me living there? With you? Was there anything you wanted to know about me?

[When their hot cocoa arrives, Caitlin takes a careful sip]

Anything you want to tell me. I don't mind you living there.

[She considers it. Caitlin looks at her hot chocolate, then at Riley.]

My mom wasn't...really a good mom. So you and I are gonna learn how to do this together. And...you mentioned that Maya's guardian has a thing in his head? I...also have someone else living in this body sometimes.

[ Riley nods. She can accept that they'll need to figure things out. ]

You do? Okay. His someone else is a little weird, but not so bad. So that's okay. You should know I have a meta ability.
