Actually, I'd say that there is. There's a meta in my world and I assume in Barry's version as well who emits a quantum field that alters local probability to favor her positively which in turn causes everyone else to suffer negatively. Before that happened, nothing good had ever happened to her.
That still doesn't answer the question of what if I need it.
