She's saying, I think, that magic similar to hers and some sort of dark creepy magic from beyond of time and space were used to send these kids back.

That's the impression I get as well when I try to get some sort of aetherial read on any of them.

Which means, essentially, if we want to send these kids back home, we're going to need a spell that uses the same or similar magics.

It also means this was definitely Black Door, they're the only group I know any rumor about having magic that messed up that would use it.
