[Lisa lets him rest his head in her lap, her hands smoothing over his head and humming softly. She doesn't shush him because he needs to grieve, he needs to release this emotion, but she can sooth him, comfort him. He used to do the same for her and she was humming the song he used to sing to her when she was little. She loves her brother deeply and will do anything at all to help him through this loss.]
[He hasn't needed this in so long, to let loose so much pain and loss, a distant part of his mind reminds him that this was a bad idea to let Nora become more than a friend.
And as soon as he let her in, he knew he was going to pay the price.
So here he is, paying the price as he grieves for his loss.]
[Lisa hasn't been in New Dodge long but she knows that people leaving doesn't always mean they are gone forever, Nora could come back...it's possible. Not likely, but possible. She was the first woman she'd ever seen Lenny so serious about...he'd even married her...and she can't even begin to imagine how his heart is breaking. To love and hope and then lose it so suddenly...devastating.
[And with careful and familiar fingers in his hair Leonard finally drifts off into sleep that isn't fueled by vodka or grief. He closes his eyes and trusts that this time his baby sister will care for him.
He's so sad and so alone without the woman he loved more than anything.]
[The floor isn't the most comfortable place, but she'll happily stay there as long as needed for him to rest. When he wakes up next she'll try to coax him to a bed where she'll once again stay, but for now she keeps singing softly and stroking his head in a soothing and comforting manner]
[Eventually Lisa will be able to get her brother into his old quarters on the ship where he'll fall into a restless sleep for a few hours again. Food is eaten listlessly but he does it because it makes his sister happy.]
[Lisa crawls into the bed beside him glad he’s getting even just a little bit of sleep not caused by being blackout drunk. She had Gideon make them food. Just something simple because Len needs something. But she knows she won’t get more than a sandwich or two in him. When Len was depressed everything kind of shut down but she wasn’t going to push her luck because he did eat it without a fight.]
