It's three and a half hours later before Mick returns. He creeps silently to Len's door and waits for a half a beat listening. He slowly opens the door peeking in as he does so, mindful that Len should be expecting him but also may be holding a weapon.

"If she wasn't sleeping I'd shoot you on principle," he drawls, reaching down into the drawer to make sure that she is still resting soundly.

"I might all the same."

[beer_and_fire]

"You know damn well ya ain't gonna shoot me. Besides, Diana would be the one you'd have to deal with if you did. Not that I would mind watching that fight." Mick chuckles at his best friend. "I see you both survived."

[old_school]

"I raised Lisa, remember? I haven't forgotten how to handle children." He's still going to make Mick's life a living hell for dropping this on him. But for now the baby is sleeping quietly in his office and Leonard isn't quite ready to let her go.

"She's still napping. Come back later."

[beer_and_fire]

Mick gives a smile so faint it's possible Lenny might miss it. "Call me when she wakes up, or if you want, you can just bring her home later. There's enough supplies in her bag if you're up to feeding her. We do 8oz water and 1 scoop of formula powder. Ya know the rest.

Have fun." He says moving to head out unless Len tries to stop him.

"I know the rest." And his eyes drift down to the sleeping baby, his hand resting feather light on her chest to feel her warmth, the way she shifts and makes the tiniest of sounds.

Later that afternoon, before Bucky is scheduled to come over for dinner Snart will message Mick that he'll take care of Helen for the night. They have some catching up to do.

Mick smiles to himself when he gets that message. Good. His plan worked. He smiled over at Diana and was very happy to tell her the news. He knows it's not perfect, but it's better than the wraith he was even just a day ago.
