One day Leonard will have to sit Steve down and they can discuss his damage. His baggage. He knows he's a disaster and why Steve wants to get involved in the emotional mess that makes him up still boggles Leonard's mind.
He boldly steps in and kisses him, "I think I could be persuaded with the right motivation to curate a show for you."
And Steve will gladly listen and love him all the more for it. He smiles at Len and nods. "Any hints on the persuasion or do I gotta figure that one out?" He teases not expecting a straight up answer at all.
"You're a bright guy, I'm sure you'll figure something out," he answers with a sly smirk. Why make it easy? A challenge can be fun when it's presented right.
Steve laughs happily and pulls back before motioning to the table. "Ready to eat? It should still be nice and hot." He says pulling the trays off to reveal one of Len's favorite meals. He might have asked Mick for some information and then slight assistance in preparing said food. But Steve did 98% of the cooking.
He quirks a brow at the lunch that Steve unveils, positive that Mick (the bastard) had a hand in it, but he sits down all the same. Leonard slides the gift across the table to Steve, a set of very nice and expensive pens custom designed for drawing. A new delivery of fine canvases should be arriving in the next day or so for him as well.
While he's not used to having nice things done for him, doing for the ones he cares most about comes easily.
Steve takes the gift with a blush. Much like Len he's not used to getting gifts. "Should I open this now?" He asks unsure of the proper etiquette..not that he thinks Len would mind either way.
And Len's nod he opens the package and stares open mouthed at the contents. They aren't cheap. He looks up at Len with misty eyes of gratitude and smiles brightly. "Thank you so much. I love these." He sets them aside and reaches across the table for Len's hand giving it a squeeze if the other gives it to him. "Thanks."
