He's been assigned as her guardian angel...thing. Something called a white-lighter? He's half witch, half white-lighter but still has someone to keep an eye on, apparently that's our kid. Anyway... They protect witches, people with huge destinies, and powerful people. He said that since her parents are both powerful pyrokinetics, it's likely that's why he was assigned to her.

Basically, she doesn't have anything to worry about which is fine. It's our job to worry, anyway. She can be the kid I never got to be.
