[ and true to her word, Bethany speeds home super fast. There are books in her backpack, sure, but Rocky gets kissed hello before she takes over the living-room floor with study guides and pencils and paper. She flips through the pages quickly. Speedster quick. Repeatedly. Until she has a translation. ]

What does that mean?!

[The kiss is not unwelcome, and would have been followed by a hug if his girlfriend wasn't a speedster who was sprawled out and studying within a few seconds.

He'd grown used to it...but still managed to need a minute every time she zipped into something.]

[Crossing over, he sinks thoughtlessly to the ground to sit across from her, displaying his natural animal grace while not actually trying to use his abilities.]

[He frowns thoughtfully, sucking silently on his teeth as he tugs at the scruff of his beard.]

That's not necessarily ominous, though--assume I'm right: dolls...representational magic...can also be used for healing.

[ The face she makes at the idea of someone having a voodoo doll of her probably looks a lot like the face her twin makes when something certainly screams 'no thank you'! ]

Whoever it is that made this prophecy could also try not including me. Or my brothers. Or...anyone in New Dodge. That'd be amazing.

[ She scoots over to him and rests her head on his shoulder, enjoying having him this close. It's helping. Soothing. Relaxing. She's less likely to freak out at the idea of someone tying some prophecy shit to her. ]

[An arm promptly goes around her shoulders as she scoots over to his side, a kiss dropped against the side of her head with a sigh.]

Not how prophecies work, babe. Trust me, I've heard more 'n a few of 'em.

[He doesn't say or do anything for a second...then groans mightily and playfully shoves Bethany down to the floor on her side so he can spoon her from behind, wrapping an arm securely around her waist and pressing his face against her neck, the teasing groan turning to a happy, animal growl as he breathes her in.]

Mmmmmm...g'night!

[ Beth lets herself be knocked over with a faint shriek and a laugh, curling onto her side and pressing her back against his chest. She pulls his arm around her waist more and rests her head on her arm, smiling softly. This was putting her at ease. ]

It's not? That kinda sucks. And what do you mean, good night. It's three thirty in the afternoon.

It's bedtime somewhere!

[His voice is muffled by her neck, but he finally lifts his head with a grin and rests his chin on her shoulder so he can talk, his arm still cinched securely around her waist. If she's paying attention, it may feel like he's got both arms looped around her, one across her chest along with the one that actually is around her waist.]

There's this coffee shop I always go to back home, and the guy who runs it? His dad always says that a prophecy can be a blessing. It lets us prepare for the future, not all are set in stone, and when documented? They remember the lives they sometimes claim. But I dunno...I guess Merlin would spout that kinda touchy-feely garbage.

[ Bethany enjoys the feel of any part of him around her, so she is not about to complain. Instead, she relaxes more into the hold for a moment before carefully rolling over to face him. ]

It's never not going to amaze me that you know Merlin. One day, when we can, I'd love to go to your world to meet him.

Yes. Good. That. Also? My sister, Rachel. You're gonna try her cooking and fall in love with her. Seriously, she's like five feet of sunshine wrapped in a tasteful shabby chic little bag with sparkles and sequins all over it. Oh, and my mom and dad, too.

Oh! And my Aunt Cyne and Uncle Elan. [Grinning, he wags his eyebrows at her lasciviously.] Did I mention my uncle's the Big Bad Wolf?

[He thinks about that for a second...letting the change take him, racing through the trees with his speedster girlfriend who can beat him hands down...
