A smile. "He means a great deal to you." So few people can put that look on Mick's face, an easy and relaxed smile. Leonard Snart may be a challenging man, but Mick clearly enjoys the challenge.

"Teaching the children history, we were working on sculpture during art, there are quite a few interesting creatures waiting to be baked and painted I think," a smile. She does love spending time with them.

"Only family I ever really had." Mick says fondly. "Him and Lisa." He says. He's glad she understands. He's glad she doesn't mind it.

He eats his food while listening to her talk about her teaching, he doesn't understand a lot about art except that it's expensive and fun to steal....and burn...but that's beside the point. "How do you bake a creature? Is that an art term thing?"

"I'm sorry, no. They're small creatures the children molded from clay." Something that holds a certain significance to Diana but that's for another time. "We are going to fire the clay in order to firm it up, to turn it to pottery."

"They will be able to paint them once they've been cooked and cooled."

"Oh." Mick says nodding in understanding when she explains what it actually means. "That's pretty cool. Makin' things like that. What kinds of things did they make?"

"Dragons, insects, tigers, creatures I've never seen before," a smile as she thinks about her students. A job she never would have considered but one she truly loves in New Dodge. "The children are quite remarkable."

Mick smiles as she tells him. "I..uh...you think I could see em?" He asks blushing lightly and hoping she'd say yes.

Diana's smile brightens as she takes his hand. "I would love that." The children are important to her and Mick is just as important to her, so to bring them together is something wonderful. "I am sure the children will love to share their art with you as well."

He gave her a small smile before continuing his meal and enjoying their conversation.

"I'm gonna get some more, you want anything while I'm up?" He asks moving to get more lasagna.

And who knows, maybe Mick could assist with the firing of the clay figures the children had worked on? "I'll take about half of whatever you're having please?"

"What do you like to do when you aren't keeping an eye on your friend?"

"Sure thing." Mick plats them both up some more food before returning to his seat.

"Uh...drink...read....tinker in Mercy's garage. Little odd things I guess."

"What do you like to read?" Interested, she leans forward, forearms resting on the table. "Or what do you work on? Are they cars or something else?"

"Don't really pay much attention to authors and stuff. I like mysteries I guess, and books about people stealin' stuff. Them Sherlock books is good." Mick says. "And I work on little things. Fixed a couple radios, help with a car transmission..."

"So many skills," a fond smile as she listens. "Talent in both the kitchen and with machines."

Diana reaches into her bag, pulling out a small wrapped box. "I hope that this isn't too much, but we thought it was something you might want to keep."

And inside the box is a small framed photograph of Diana and Antiope.

Mick takes the box and opens it staring at the picture for several moments before sniffling slightly and looking back up at Diana. “Thanks. I didn’t have one of her. I. I didn’t wanna forget her.” He says looking back down at the photo like it’s precious. Which it is. This is probably the best gift anyone has ever given him.

“Thank you Diana.” He says again

A smile as she watches Mick take in the two pictures. "It was her idea, Antiope's. To have something to remember her by until you meet her again."

Reaching across the table she gently takes his hand.

“She’s a good kid. Beautiful. Smart. Just like her ma.” Mick says softly. “My girls. I miss her. Didn’t think I would. Not like this.”

"And she has a good heart, just like her father. We will see her again soon, Mick. I am certain of it." Because she loves him, and if the gods were to grace her with a child, she would love that child with everything that she had.

Mick nods at her and then kisses the back of her hand affectionately. "Should we have dessert and maybe move to the living room? Watch a movie?" He asks because he doesn't want her to leave yet even though they've both finished eating dinner.

"That sounds wonderful," she agrees. "But only if you let me help clean up." After all it's the least she can do after Mick made such a lovely dinner for them both.

"Okay." Mick says nodding in agreement before standing to start packaging left overs. He puts some in a container for her to take home with her later on and then sets about washing while she dries and puts away. It's nice. Content.

A simple activity like doing dishes is wonderful, quiet and domestic as they finish cleaning up before retiring to Mick's couch.

"Mick. I should tell you about myself, about where I am from." She fiddles with her glass for a moment. "My mother is Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons. No one has been able to leave our island since the day I left in 1917."

She doesn't wish to frighten him, but it's also important that Mick knows the truth about her. The whole truth.

"Damn...ya look pretty damn amazing for being over 100 years old." Mick smiles softly down at her. "I'm pretty damn old myself...not even sure how old to be honest anymore. I used to travel with some people...time travel. Anyway...Snart abandoned me once...I was taken by some assholes called Time Masters found me...they did shit to me...brainwashed me...sent me after the team....anyway I got better...point is I don't care how old you are or aren't just so long as you're here with me."

Diana doesn't correct him, sure that she is far older than that, but time moves differently on Themiscyra, it always had.

Mention of being abandoned, of Time Masters and torture is met with a frown, but she has no intention of pressing him for more information at the moment. Whatever had passed between Mick and his best friend had obviously been dealt with given their close relationship now.

She smiles, threading her fingers with his. "There is no place else I would rather be than with you."

What Mick didn't say was that he's spent countless years being reprogrammed by the Time Masters...so he's several hundred years old too.

Mick kisses the back of her hand when she threads their fingers together. With the dishes completed Mick nods his head towards the small living room.

"Cake and a movie?" He says knowing the answer will of course be yes.

Diana laughs easily, "Provided you teach me how and that it's chocolate cake." She has a weakness for chocolate, or more to the point, the chocolate cakes that Mick makes.
