Warm is good. Not too hot. [Diana's smile is gentle as she moves closer, running her hands along newly bared skin. Mick's scars are a part of him and she'll accept them as easily as she's accepted the rest of him.

She raises up to kiss him softly before taking his hands in order to draw him into the water.]

[Mick lets her adjust the temperature of the water how she likes it. He doesn't pull away when she touches him or kisses him. Instead he leans into it. Obviously she isn't put off. That's good.

He steps into the shower with her and leans in for another kiss before reaching for a washcloth in order to was her gently.]

[Her hands skim over both scarred and smooth skin without stopping, taking in every contour of his body. The kisses they share are warm and gentle and once he's finished with her, Diana is more than happy to return the favor.]

[He has never felt so wanted before. No one has ever looked at him like Diana Prince does and it scares him to death. He doesn't speak, just enjoys it while he can because he knows he can't have this. Not really. There's no way. She might think she cares but she'll realize it's a mistake.

Antipoe should be proof...but instead it's just become a looming future he is terrified of in more ways than he can comprehend. A kid...he's got a kid...LEN HAS A KID!

He lets her wash him in turn sneaking small kisses and touches before they get out, dry off, and redress. He doesn't know what to say or do now. He's never had anyone stay before.]

[And Diana has not wanted like this in a very long time. Mick asked her to be patient. Her own daughter reminded her of the same thing. So she will be patient. She will wait.

The small kisses and caresses are wonderful, but sooner or later the hot water will threaten to turn cold and they have to return to the main room in order to hunt down clothing that had been thrown aside in heat of the moment.

Diana surveys the mess with an amused quirk of her lips. So much for eating in.

Instead she offers Mick her hand.] Have dinner with me at the saloon. Then, if you like, I can come back and help you straighten up.

[He knows he needs to tell her to slow down, he knows he should say something, anything to let her know that he's overwhelmed emotionally and compromised, but he doesn't know how. So instead he nods at her and takes her hand still not giving more than a small grunt of acknowledgement. HE really hopes she doesn't expect him to talk much, he's pretty sure those braincells are fried right now.]

[Something is wrong.

They've met at the saloon before to talk and eat but this time Mick is largely silent, barely responsive and for the life of her, Diana doesn't know why. Mick had asked her to be patient, which meant not pushing for answers but she can't deny something has shifted between them.

She doesn't know if that shift is for the better or not.

With the bill paid, she rests her hands on the table.]

Mick. Do you need me to go? [A question that hurts to ask, but she won't continue to stay if it's the source of what is suddenly troubling him.]

[Mick is mostly silent, but it doesn't feel overly oppressive to him. He's never been one for long conversations. He does listen to her, paying attention, trying to keep focused on her instead of the looming dread.

Diana gets hurt. They got married. They had a kid. They loved each other. They had a kid.

Fuck he just met the woman and now he knows they have a kid!

He pays for their meal and then when she rests her hand on the table he reaches across and takes it in his own giving it a small squeeze.]

Thought you wanted to help me clean up my place. [His tone is deep, but not unkind. One might even say thoughtful. As much as he wants her to go and save herself he can't bare to let her.]

I do. [She shifts her hand to hold his. When Diana loves, she does it with her whole heart, with everything that she is.

She doesn't want to frighten him with it. If what Cisco said was right, he has had terribly little love in his life.] I don't want to go. But something is troubling you.

When you're ready to talk about it, you know I'll be here to listen, right?

I don't know what I need but I know I ain't ready to be alone right now. I'd like ya to help me clean up...if ya want.

Of course I want. [A smile as she squeezes his hand.]

I promised you I'd be patient and I will, but I need you to promise me something in return. I need you to promise you'll try and talk to me when you need something.

[She's only asking him to try. Nothing more.]

[Mick sighs heavily, not out of frustration but because he's a little sad.]

I can't promise ya that, doll, cause I know I ain't gonna keep it. N' you deserve the truth about that....I ain't good at explainin' things...if you need more you could ask Leonard....Just know I care a lot and I'm gonna try...but even that can't be a promise. Not yet.

[It hurts, seeing Mick struggle with something so simple and know that there is nothing she can do to help him.

But she will keep her promise. To be patient. To wait.] Okay. That's a start.

[Mick gives her a small smile and squeezes her hand once more]

Ready to go?

Ready. [Diana wishes she could do more for him, wishes she could show Mick how she's come to care for him. But she'll ease back, try and watch him for cues about what he might need.

If she can read a man like Bruce Wayne, she can learn Mick Rory.

She also might be smiling a bit as they start to clean up the mess from their rather enthusiastic union.]

They clean up and toss the spoiled and messed food. The beers survived so he puts them in the fridge to get cold before standing and kind of seeming unsure a little. ]

Uh...Wanna stay and watch a movie or something?

[Diana would rather rest, or take the time to process, but she isn't ready to leave his side yet. So she nods, taking up a spot on the couch.]

I'd like that. You pick though.

[If she wants to go, he won't stop her. He just doesn't know what to do.]

Okay. [He sits on the couch and settles leaving plenty of room for her to sit where she likes while he tries to find something for them to watch. He settles on an old American Western to with Clint Eastwood in all his glory.

[Diana has never seen a Western, so as the movie progresses and The Man With No Name wreaks his terrible vengeance on the town she curls up against his side.

Careful. Slow.

While she wants the contact she doesn't want to press for more than what Mick is ready for.]

A curious movie.
The bullets move rather slowly.

Yeah, Normal bullets don't move like that. [He wraps an arm around her shoulders letting her know its okay to do that but he's not going to straight up say he wants her to do it...cause ya know..feelings.]

[She smiles into his shoulder when Mick drapes his arm around her, allowing her closer. Then it's back to he movie as one hand rests lightly on his leg.

Then it's back to the movie and doing her best not to object more to the movies questionable rope work and tactics. Mick is warm and solid and nice to simply be with.]

[Mick is content to just enjoy the time together and not read into it or think about it too much. When the movie ends though and it's starting to get dark he knows she needs to go home.]

You could stay tonight. If ya wanted too. [He says instead.]

[To be honest, she drowses against him after a bit. Mick is warm and solid and even a spaghetti western at it's best isn't all that engaging to a warrior. Entertaining, but the day has been filled with enough emotion that she's relatively exhausted.

A hum at the offer and she shifts to kiss him gently. Nothing searching or seeking, just simple contact.] I'd like that.

[Mick gives her a small half smile and gently takes her hand to help her stand up. He leads her back to the bedroom. It's not tidy..but its not smelly at least. He releases her hand so he can go brush his teeth and pee and then comes out of the bathroom.]

You want a shirt to sleep in?

[She's come to value those small smiles of his, the ones when his guard is down and he seems genuinely content with things.]

Yes, please. [And she takes one of his shirts to the bathroom to change and freshen up a bit before returning to him. She can spend another night with him like this, laying close and wrapped up in warm arms.]
