[The door's unlocked so he can just come on in if he wants too. Mick is in the kitchen at the stove, Helen in a little rocker near the table away from harm but in eyesight of her dada.]

[By now he's comfortable enough to let himself in, stopping by to talk to little Helen who happily burbles at the attention and the metal fingers tickling her chin.]

Grabbed dessert on the way over, a cake if that's ok?

Sure, never gonna turn down dessert. [Mick is slicing some cheese that he made from the milk Bucky brought him, as well as some fruits before setting it on the counter for everyone to nibble on as they please until dinner is ready]

Got roast with potatoes, celery, and carrots, a fresh salad, I whipped up some of my grans special mac and cheese, and fresh rolls.

Diana should be home soon.

[Bucky situates the girls together before snagging some cheese and a bite of apple. Being a parent is hard work, even when he's sharing duties with David and Groot.]

Think we're going to have to invest in play pens for the girls sooner rather than later.

Food sounds amazing. I'm burning through the stuff you had sent over before Gracie was born.

We got two if ya need one. I picked up one for Lenny at his place just in case, but well, I don't want Helen on the Waverider just yet. S'yours if ya want it. And if she's sleepin, we can put em both in the nursery, the crib's up and stuff so they'd both be fine.

And I'm literally cookin' every night, ya got a standin' invite to come over for dinner every day if ya want.

I can move the girls if that's okay? [Because it would be easy to carry both infants but he isn't going to presume. Helen is Mick's little girl after all.] I can get them both sleeping together here in a sec. You know you're talking about feeding someone who eats almost constantly right?

And I feed a couple speedsters on the regular. Plus, I really like cookin'.

Come on little ladies. [Bucky is happy to carry both babies to a crib to share space and he comes back with an easy smile on his face.] Okay the girls are settled.

Naw I get it. I'm just.. it's a lot to get used to, you know?

Havin' people who wanna look out for ya, ya mean? [Mick's used to taking care of people, that's why he married a woman who takes care of him. :) ]

Yeah. Something like that. [A quiet, self-conscious laugh slips free.] It's a lot to unpack, the last few years and then this place. I never thought I'd survive the war, honestly. Now.. I've got a farm, goats and a baby girl that I love more than anything.

And family, Barnes. Ya got a family of people who look out for ya. [He winks as he takes the dessert Bucky brought out of the box and places it on a plate]

I never thought I'd have a chance at nice things being a criminal and a murderer and all mentally irregular...but I got it. I'm doin' something I love, got a lady I love, a daughter, really good friends....s'more than I deserve, but I'm glad I got it.

I think if I'd had a chance, I woulda opened a restaurant or somethin'.

[Another, easier chuckle as he takes another piece of cheese, biting into it with a pleased hum.] Damn that's good stuff.

You'd have kicked ass at it too. You got a great family here. Kick ass lady, gorgeous baby, friends.

[He salutes him with a smile] Here's to both of us getting lucky.

Peggy and Sam make good milk, good milk makes good cheese. I can give you some to take home if you want.

[A laugh at the offer] You've already given me enough damn food to feed an army.

[.. that's not a no either.] And I'm not gonna tell them that. They're a handful as it is. No getting their heads any bigger.

You eat enough for an army, Barnes. [Said lovingly]
