[And about forty minutes later Bucky is letting himself in, Max trotting at his heels. He finds Mick in the kitchen and steals a kiss.]

Hey. What's for lunch, chef?

[Mick leans into the kiss with a soft hum and then leans down to pet Max]

Just some soup and sandwiches. [And by soup and sandwiches he means homemade chicken noodle soup made completely from scratch and sandwiches made with some of the best ingredients he could find. He might still be trying to woo Bucky a bit...but also comfort him because of the whole Steve thing.]

[A pleased sound as he pokes at the kettle of soup before going to get himself a glass of water and a dish of it for Max.] Best food in all of New Dodge. Diana at the station?

[Mick blushes at the compliment before he starts dishing everything up so they could eat]

Yeah, she had some stuff she needed to do.

I can bring her some by later. [He helps get the table ready and sits down with an easy grin.]

[Sits with Bucky at the table]

So..aside from seeing you for lunch, I had another reason to have you over.

Oh yeah? Got something in mind do ya?

[Mick chuckles and eats a spoonful of soup before replying]

So the Casino is hosting a singles night. Len needs to mingle even if he refuses to admit it. I was wondering if you wanted to help me subtly suggest to a few people that maybe they should seek him out to talk to him.

Trying to draw him out are you?
Yeah I can try, but subtle spycraft like that was never what I was trained in.

[Mick gets a grin on his face]

It depends on who you try to use that spycraft on. You have a friend who just arrived who needs to make friends don't you?

You want me to send Stevie at him? [That gets an amused snort of laughter.]

Well Lenny likes people like Nora and Barry. Steve is a lot like them. If nothing else it might give them both a friend. I ain’t worried about romance or nothing like that.

I know you're worried about him. [Bucky reaches across the table to hold his hand.] I know what he means to you.

Stevie will want to help but I don't know if he'll be able to be more than his friend.

[Mick turns his hand and threads their fingers]

I’m not worried about that. It’s just. I know with us and Diana and all he’s just...[Mick sighs heavily]

I have a feeling I’m going to see him less and less, and I think he’ll be the same with Lisa. He needs a friend. He doesn’t really have anyone close anymore that doesn’t constantly remind him of what he lost when Nora left.
