She stepped through the familiar Yurt, the decorative coins and adornments along her belt chiming together in a delicious symphony of sound as her hips swayed from left to right. Prim stopped at the front window, turned and sat delicately on the small ledge. One long lovely leg stretched to the other side of the windowsill while her other leg curled beneath her. Folds of red fabric draped from her hips, around her thighs and the floor just barely within reach of the silky strands of hair. In a rare change, her hair was down, the dark auburn brown curling around her slender shoulders before dropping well below her waist.
Prim ran her fingers through her hair, remembering when she'd first been brought to this odd town. Lost in her thoughts, she barely noticed Danny standing in the doorway to the family room, his eyes on her.
She turned and tucked her arms in her lap to stop the slow methodical movements of her fingers running through her hair. "I didn't know you were up. I'm sorry if I disturbed you." She paused and then signed as she let her thoughts slip from her lips. "What do you think of all this? Of being trapped here? I don't know if it's a blessing or a curse."
Primrose wanted to avenge her father but she enjoyed the quiet little town and the time she'd spent with her roommate. She couldn't really explain it but she felt herself being tethered to this place, as much as she'd been tethered to home.
She was right about one thing, Danny was mesmerized, there was no other word to describe the beauty... not to get too poetic or anything but Prim had a natural beauty about her that just befuddled Danny but it also piqued his curiosity and in a detective that is not an easy thing to do.
"What's the matter?" Danny asked quietly, pushing off the wall easily, not caring if he had a sleeveless shirt on.
She didn't mind that her questions had gone ignored. It was rhetorical. She knew that Danny enjoyed this world. She was sure that there were people he missed but whenever Prim saw him he looked comfortable, even happy. She wondered if he had these doubts or if he had chosen to be brought here instead of 'fluxed' in by accident.
"I was just thinking." Prim ran her fingers through her hair as she looked over at Danny with a soft smile. She didn't bother moving from her window seat. "About home. It's been nearly sixth months. I can go home soon."
And for the first time in her life, she wasn't sure what she wanted to do.
Danny was so stunned by how beautiful she looked that he had forgotten completely that she had even asked anything. His brain eventually caught up with his mouth and he answered. "Sure, I think about it. Miss Gracie and Charlie, the rest of my Ohana," Danny groaned. "Please don't tell Steve I ever said that. I'll never hear the end of it," Danny finished quietly, stopping behind her.
Her fingers absently intertwined between the long silly strands of her hair.
It was a fair question but a loaded one and while Primrose has never mentioned her family, it wasn't difficult for a detective to sense some tension there.
"Maybe. I don't have a family to return home to." She had her revenge, her house and her name but her family was gone.
[She looks at him, her expression surprised as she shifts and lets her legs fall on the inside of he window. On some level, Primrose had been expecting him to convince her to stay but she hasn't expected him to say something so intimate.]
Do you really mean that?
You would be my family.
[It sounds so strange to her. Not bad but she'd never expected to have family.]
Yeah totally. Give the woman you want to spend the rest of your life with Onion breath before you have to kiss her... way to go Romeo. More like a ring pop, my friend.
Are you serious right now? Did you fall and hit your head? No probably not, because that wouldn't account for your behavior back home... Why would you even think that an onion would be better than sugar?
[Okay this conversation was ridiculous, Danny knew it, Steve knew it... Danny knew Steve's faces, he grew serious as well. ]
Stop it with the aneurysm face. How long have you known her?
[She doesn't truly understand the holidays but she's seen others celebrating and has decided to get something nice for her roommate. Only, she has no idea what to get him. Eventually she finds a gift that she feels suits them both and wraps it in elegant wrapping paper.
The gift is left just outside of his bedroom door with a simple note that reads: to Danny, from Prim.
When he opens the gift he'll find a nice bottle of men's cologne.]
[Danny smiled and was genuinely touched by the gift. He left a gift WRAPPED outside of her door. Once she opened the wrapping paper she would find a journal with a note attached. ]
Primrose- Maybe we can fill these pages with new memories? D

Re: <3
I could be your family. When I got to Hawaii I didn't have a family and well Steve bulldozed his way into my life and gave me a family... Ohana.

Yeah, I never say things I don't mean. I mean I like you.

I like you too.
I find this world has exceeded my expectations of it.
Perhaps I will stay. If you'll continue to have me.
