[See you then. Steve makes a few snacks and gets the first movie into the DVD player and then busies himself with laundry so it doesn't look like he's just waiting around.

[What is he doing here? Right. Being social to keep Mick from worrying and Steve is easier to be around than others. He doesn't treat him like he's made of glass because of..

Still. He's at Steve's door in exactly an hour, knocking on the door.]

[Steve opens the door. He's wearing jeans, a white t-shirt that's stretched obscenely across his shoulders, and he's barefoot. He smiles brightly when he sees who's at his door.]

Leonard! Hi! Come on in.

I thought you could use a thank you after what happened at the Gallery. [He slips inside, making sure his eyes don't linger in any one spot.]

You didn't have too, but I still appreciate it. Well, I got some snacks and the movie's ready to play.

Then let's get started. [Leonard pours himself a glass and moves to perch at the corner of Steve's couch.

He won't mind if Steve sits with him, but touch is another matter entirely.]

[Steve sits on the other side of the couch, respectful of Len's personal space. He already has his own drink. He presses play and sits back to get some pop culture knowledge]

[It's hardly the first time he's seen the movie and Leonard finds himself glancing over to see just what Steve makes of the movie. The first one is a bit darker, the second one is utterly ridiculous and he's banking on very different reactions.]

[The first one leaves Steve scratching his head a bit and also mildly horrified. He has a whole new understanding of the issue that happened at the Casino now. When the first one ends he takes a few minutes to order fix them both lunch, just some hamburgers and some chips. Simple and quick. Then its onto the second one, this one is not as dark as the first and Steve finds himself shocked, appalled, laughing, and down right confused all in turn. It's good and he's enjoying the afternoon. After spending the morning with Natasha it feels good to just relax and not feel weighed down by sadness...even if there is joy in it]

[He offers context for any pop culture references that might escape Steve. The pause is welcome and it gives them a moment to chat while they wait for food.

Honestly it's been a long time since he's been this at ease with anyone and the second movie is even more amusing as he watches Steve react to the ridiculous nature of it.]

[When the second movie ends Steve turns to Leonard and smiles]

You're welcome. [His smile is small but genuine as he moves to stand.] Happy to update you with some good movies.

I should get back to the casino. There's a lot of cleanup that needs to be done before I can open again.

[Steve stands with him and nods] Feel free to continue to update me on what I missed. And do you need help? I'm free and I can lift really heavy things.

I'm not going to say no to some help. I was going to offer cheap food and drink and a few chips to see if I could recruit some local help.

I can even play a movie on some of the screens while we work.

I'd help just because. That's what friends do for each other. They help.

[Steve moves into his bedroom for socks and grabs his jacket. He slips into boots by the door and smiles again at Leonard]

I'll walk with you if you like.

I don't have many friends.

[He's going to wait quietly and patiently while Steve fetches what he needs.] I'm still here. Let's go.

Well, I'll be your friend. If you'll let me.

[He slips his hands into his jacket pockets as they walk into town enjoying the companionship]

You'll find I'm not the easiest to get along with. [What? Steve's a nice guy so he deserves fair warning that he's trying to make friends with a prickly alley cat.]

Well, I've been told that I'm one of the most stubborn and persistent people alive so...take that as you will.

Noted. [The Gallery is still a wreck but Leonard's got plans everywhere to handle both cleanup and use the mess as an excuse to expand a few things.

He talks Steve through some of the plans before calling up a new movie for him to watch while they work.]

[Steve listens intently before getting to work on fulfilling what Leonard has in mind. He does his best and works diligently and without complaint idly watching the movie as it plays as well.]
