Mr Rogers, you don't know me, but I wanted to message you and say I appreciate what you said to Mr Beck on the Hot or Not thread.

I've been meaning to say something to him myself, but telling people I don't know well exactly what I think isn't my strong-suit. He has a lot of ego, doesn't he?

Thank you. I don't know him at all, to be honest. I just don't suffer people being rude to others. I despise bullies.

He's supposedly from my world, but I've never heard of him at all. I'm not sure he's who or what he claims to be.

I don't care for them, either, and I grew up on an island full of them.

He reminds me of a lot of the people I grew up around. Unpleasant, full of themselves, lacking in humility.

Don't take that to mean I don't care for the people I lived with for the first fifteen years of my life. I do.

I think he wants to believe he's a hero, hence his constant insistence that he is such.

If I've spoken harshly, I apologize.

I'm sorry you had to grow up in an environment like that. It couldn't have been easy regardless of how much you care about those doing it.

Good. I try to reserve harsh statements of truth for my friends.

[ She's teasing but it's true. She did get in Mal's face about lying about the barrier. That was a fun two minutes for Evie. ]

It's probably why I'm not a fan of people screaming their greatness from mountaintops they built up for themselves in their own heads.

I have a question for you. Mr Beck wanted me to create and design custom clothing for him, but after this whole mess on a post that was meant to be fun, I don't feel like I should or even can. Do you think it'd be right of me to step back from his request and tell him to find someone else?

No, I don't think so. If it compromises your core beliefs and values well then, as a wise woman once said 'Compromise when you can, and when you can't, don't." If you feel that strongly about it then no one can fault you for denying his request. It's your choice who you work with.
