What do you think? Jet-lag? Two weeks is a long time to be traveling. Maybe I'm still kind of tired.

1/31 - mid-afternoon: action-ish.

[ Evie had errands to run for the day, just a few short, quick things that have her in and out of the house for a few hours. At one point, she's left Cal a present on the kitchen table.

It's a box of chocolate-covered salted caramels from the candy store. Some dark chocolate, some milk chocolate. There's only six in the box, but Evie saw them and thought he might enjoy them.

There's no note, but she's sure he can guess who they're from. ]

I have news. My best friend just fluxed in. I'm going to be late getting home for dinner.

That'd be her. Purple hair, kind of prickly when it comes to the people she cares about, but one of the best people I know.

My friend made the earrings for me for the sole purpose of going with the shoes I wore today. When I get my shop back, I'm going to see if I can start selling her jewelry there and send the money back to her.

[ Evie sounds composed, but concerned, and a bit out of breath. ]

I hope right now...[ And the sounds of something growling offscreen, an annoyed huff from Evie and the tell-tale blast of her using her aerokinesis to send something far, far away from herself. ]

I hope you're safe right now. And nowhere near home. We can't return to the shire until whatever's going on is finished. I've found space for us at the Boarding House. It's small, but right now, who cares?

Meet you there? I'm hoping you're armed.

[ LBR she knows full well he very much so is, but Evie has to hope that this isn't the one day he's left the lightsaber at home. Again, she knows it's impossible. But this is New Dodge and no Imperials or bounty hunters have shown up to make life for him miserable.

Just Ghost Moons and strange creatures Evie's never even heard of. ]

[You can hear the amusement in Cal's voice because as crazy as all this is... dealing with crazy is pretty normal for him so he's not too put out by it all.]

We did talk about this, when I said I was considering taking myself off the guardian list. And I'm glad you stopped me. Will needs someone, and I'd love the opportunity to be there for him.
