Two questions: Have you ever been reminded of home in a way that was both horrifying and oddly nostalgic?

Do you think Grace will try this if I made it for dinner tonight?

It's a weird mix of feelings. On the one hand, I'm reminded of life on the Isle and how fun that was.

[ Fun here meaning it actually sucked. ]

But then I'm reminded of Auradon and how well I'm doing there. And this is all from one person. That new guy, Jack.

Okay, that's dinner tonight, then.

I know, but a lot of his mannerisms scream Isle of the Lost. He tried that whole crossing his fingers behind his back thing. I almost called him out on it, but...not today. Maybe another time.

Why didn't I call him out?

I have a preference for honesty and people keeping promises. He insisted he carry the folding hand cart I use for work, I told him I had it, he insisted again and I said it was fine, but he has to promise me that it's only the one time.

That's when he crossed his fingers behind his back. Maybe it's an odd sense of chivalry, but coupled with not being able to make a simple promise is frustrating.
