Well, yes. Beyond the protection of the council of influence, since we're starting a regency cobra council, that means we're only in charge til whoever we each choose as our 'heir' would take over when they're of age. For me, that'd be Billy. I assume for you that would be Ruby or one of your pack's other kids.
I would leave to choice of heirs to the individuals in choice. I was forced into a suicide game, I'm not going to influence my daughter or another pack child for something they do not want.
