I'd be glad to. Jay and I can tell you about Auradon and all of the ridiculousness we went through during our first week.
Apples are one of my favorites, despite all. I'm not one for baking. You can ask Mal about the time I tried to make cupcakes and they were better off as explosives. Someone told me to think of baking like chemistry, so dummy me threw all of the elements in. They glowed, they changed colors, they blew up when thrown at hard objects. No one ate one.
That being said, I can bring something. A side or I can pick up ice cream from the general store.
I'd like that, to hear about Auradon.
Your baking sounds like my cooking. I can make a passable lasagna
but that's it.
I'll make turnovers or pie. You bring ice cream. Maybe
Jay can pick up pizza. Or something from the Saloon.
Regina appears in front of C&P in a swirl of purple smoke. She's curious about the message, but it's Evie she's here for. And as soon as she comes back into sight, Regina's arms are open to put around her.
In case anyone's wondering exactly how upset over this Evie is? They can just look at her eyes. Oh, she's still dressed to the nines, observing all of her style preferences and her make-up is on point. But her eyes are so puffy and red and Nebula is chirping up at her, leaning on her leg.
Evie spots the purple smoke and heads over right away, glad for the hug and the shoulder to press her face into. She's not crying again, she just feels super weighed down by everything. She's quiet, trying to keep her breathing even and after a few moments, she straightens.
Not at all okay with Mal's sudden departure herself, and almost losing Evie, but instead gaining another and a quasi-grandaughter, she pulled Evie back into her arms again. The ache in her chest hadn't subsided since the moment she'd learned the girl who was not but could've been her daughter was gone, and it was reflex now to press a kiss to the crown of her head.
There's a small smile at the kiss on her forehead, Evie taking a slow breath and letting it out just as slow.
"No idea. I'm glad you decided to be here." Evie replies, hugging Regina tightly before finally stepping back. The spellbook is in a bag hanging on her shoulder.
"Nowhere else," is Regina's answer. She manages not to add you're my daughter, but now that Dark Dodge Evie has her saying it, it's hard not to. It's harder still to remember she's known Evie less than a month, because her heart says that doesn't matter.
"As for Mal, I'm honestly not sure why she left me anything at all. Most of our conversations consisted of her insulting me by saying I dress like the Fairy Godmother." She glances aside at Evie while they walk into C&P. "Tell me honestly. Do I?"

Has it really been less than a month?

"Hi, Regina. Thank you." For coming. And the hug.
