She's human, yes. I expect that the glowing is some sort of residual effect of a descendant that was not human, but that's likely why she was so insistant on finding a donor that is 100% human.

I'd suggest she's from a universe where that's completely normal, but she's from this one and I'm not sure what is normal here.

It could also be a cosmetic alteration. Something more aggressive than the glowing tattoo ink Maya has.

Possibly. It's probably gouache to ask about it, though. I need to remember to bring that up with my mother. So she doesn't make a faux-pas I'm not ready to apologize for.
