[When he gets home, there is a note taped to the door:
Edward,
I am suffering from something. I do not know when it will pass, but it is currently making me say things I would not normally choose to. Until this is done with, I think it better that I recuse myself from the public and sleep somewhere I am not tempted to speak to you.
For that reason, I will be at The Lotus in one of the private rooms until I'm certain this has passed.
I love you. That hasn't changed. I simply do not wish to be forced to say something that will hurt you in some way.
[ If this were Gotham, he might've sent the delivery guy back to Oswald with some sort of elaborate and dangerous riddle.
Apparently, in New Dodge, it's just the first part. He takes the food, he takes the puzzle. He writes writes it down for the delivery person to give to Oswald, then folds it into a rather sloppy origami heart. Look, he's tired.
"I hide in the daylight but prefer the sun, I have no fingers but can hold a gun, I have three eyes but cannot see, I live on land but in a tree, I’m spotted in pink and cannot grow, when you look away is when I show. What am I?" ]
[If the goal was to get Oswald to write back directly, he got it.]
That is not fair at all! I don't think there's anything related in those statements! And even if you take each as a separate item, they don't make sense as a whole! Shadow holster coconut bird something something. NO SENSE AT ALL!
A coconut has three eyes but cannot see! A bird lives on the land but in a tree!
...I suppose a coconut matches both those clues, but I don't see how it matches any of the others except hide during the day but prefer the sun. I suppose it could be considered to hide behind the palm fronds it grows under. But it has absolutely nothing to do with a gun.
Well for one thing, coconut has nothing to do with the answer at all. Maybe that's why it doesn't make sense to you.
A red-house is made of red bricks, has a red wooden door and a red roof. A yellow-house is made of yellow bricks, has a yellow wooden door and a yellow roof. What is a green-house made of?
well it's working pretty well but it's driving me nuts! i can't even control what i'm saying when I write. I don't like this and I don't want to do this when I don't have control!
It's only impossible because you thought the answer was coconut when the answer is shadow, holster, traffic light, bird, the letter i and side profile.
you gave six clues about six separate objects and then asked "what am I" as if they were one item or all related. that is the most logical assumption given a riddle in that format.
continued from Steve post!
Seriously, do I need to come home?
Love,
Edward

Sure. Good luck with that. Enjoy yourself.
early evening
Guy kind of rambled but said we had to include "i'm sorry" and "please don't be too mad". There was a lot more, and he got really uh... anyway. Here.

What the hell is a coconut bird?
[ Is he kidding? He's probably kidding. ]
It makes perfect sense.
