"Are you sure that Steve isn't from... somewhere else. Somewhere that's not my Hawkins?"
"Yeah. Steve Harrington. He tried to kill someone?" Billy frowns for a long moment before he thinks of Lucas and he wonders if that's what she means.
"Lucas? Black kid with a stupid bandana and an attitude problem?" Okay, look, he still doesn't like the kid but it's not for the same bullshit, racist reason it was before. The kids a smart ass and he'd fucked around with Max's heart.
"Well, shit. Harrington had it shitty in the end." Billy sighs and takes a moment to feel sad for the guy.
"Yeah. I... was not a good guy back then. I'm... trying to not be him anymore." He shrugs. "But I don't think that's the Steve from my world. Steve was still here, in Hawkins, when I left."
