Billy arches a brow at the face on the screen and frowns.

"I don't know you."

[There's some staring at the screen with a tilted head for a moment, trying to figure out where from when it hits her.]

... Do you know the name Steve Harrington?

"Yes?" His brows furrow and Billy starts to look wary. Not only is this woman kinda strange to look at, she's talking about Harrington and he doesn't recall mentioning him to anyone, let alone a woman he's never met.

"I know Steve."

delivery: 07/12/20 - early afternoon

[ Listen, Elle can be a sneaky shit if she wants to, and right now she figures it's as good a time as any. So she heads to Billy's apartment with a basket in her arms, a small black kitten sleeping inside. Tucked around the kitten are various cat toys, a couple containers of treats and a box of catnip. There's also a note, but more on that later. She's also carrying a bag containing a litter box, kitty litter, food and water dishes and some canned and dry kitten food. She sets all of this up outside Billy's apartment door and knocks.

Sorry, she won't be sticking around. The second she knocks she opens a hole into the Upside Down and steps through, closing it quickly.

As for the note? It says; ]

Hey, Billy! This is Madmartigan. Marty for short. He's ten weeks old, loves chasing his own tail, sleeping in patches of sunlight and running around like a lunatic for no reason. If he fits, he sits, so expect that kind of cat behavior where he'll sit in or on the weirdest and most random things. He has a soft meow, loud purr, loves having his tail brushed. He's also not like the cats from home.

For one thing, he's tele-empathic. Meaning he can read your emotions and help you with them. Feeling stressed out or upset? Marty will curl up against you and project a soothing, calming and focusing aura. Having a nightmare? Expect Marty to show up in it and make things a lot better just by being around.


Oh, and speaking of that tail? He's never going to grow into it like...at all. It'll always be double the length of his body.

I have his older sister, Miss Kitty. I promise, they're absolutely as advertised.

Billy opens the apartment door dressed in nothing but a pair of sweats and a towel wrapped around his shoulders. He'd just gotten out of a post-work out shower when he heard the knock and he wasn't expecting anyone.

There's no one there, but there is a cat and supplies and a note.

After he gets things set up for him and has curled up on the couch with Marty on his chest, Billy reads over the note from Elle, a soft smile coming to his face as he realises what this gift really means.

He allows himself 10 minutes to let his emotions overcome him and it's almost like Marty knows that those ten minutes are up and a feeling of calm washes over him. With one hand curled around the kitten, he uses the other to shoot a small text Elle.

It's short; two simple words.

[All Billy replies with is a single photo of him laying down on the couch, Marty curled up on his neck with his head sitting underneath Billy's chin. There's the tell tale sign of a smile on Billy's lips where they're barely in frame.]
