Hey - I need to talk to you about this drive to take the stone from Savitar.

If you've been told some horror story about how the big, mean, Jemma Simmons blames him for everything, I do not want to hear it. Never did I say it should be taken from him after he said he needed it. I'll tell you the same thing I told I told Julie, saying I'm threatening to take it from him is an outright lie.

See, I did things like ask him things before making assumptions.

But it is lovely to know both you and Julie presume those of us who were unwillingingly affected have no right to ask him to try and stop it happening again.

And let me clarify, in case it is unclear.

1) I never told him it was his fault, or I was planning on taking away an item that is necessary for his abilities.

2) I don't want to hear it, from you, from Julie, or from the overgrown teenager throwing a temper-tantrum.

Okay. Okay let's back up.
Back home a lot of bad things happened to Savitar, so he's likely to assume the worst and that means the people who care about him are going to try and protect him.

There has to be a way to protect the stone from any further random screw ups from the weather.

Savitar reached out to me, upset. I apologise if I jumped to the wrong conclusions but it's been a long time since he's had anyone in his corner.

What can I do to help?

I am well aware bad things happened to Savitar. I've been working with him since he arrived.

[That, to Jemma means more than what's next, since SCIENCE.]

I've also been in charge of making sure he gets the appropriate food he needs, given his dietary requirements.

[She almost sidesteps the last question. She is in no mood to deal with Savitar, or Savitar's face, right now.]

With all the new metas, the lab needs to be up and running as soon as possible. I know Wells can be difficult, but if you could wrangle him and Savitar, that would be good.

[No, she does not want to discuss her own cocoon experience.]

[That's good, because Barry isn't asking. He's also not pointing out that the stone that unwittingly gave powers can also reverse the process.

His jaw sets at her reply.
People respond to stress differently. They do.
So he's just going to focus on helping the people that need it now that the issue of the stone is dealt with.]

[See, knowing the stone could remove the powers might be an important thing for not just a Jemma, but the whole town to know.

What other reply did he expect? Savitar’s inability to understand the difference between responsibility and fault has put her back up. That this happened so early in her pregnancy puts it up even further.]

Savitar’s been very helpful in the past working with metas, maybe he’ll remember that if he has a team around him.

[The stone is Savitar's. Not Barry's. So it's not his information to give. What he does know is that there was a particularly nasty exchange of words between Savitar and Jemma via the TC that bordered on threats and his own attempt to reach out was met with defensiveness.

Communication, people. It would go miles towards working things out.

You know what’s interesting, is that he wasn’t doing anything with the stone before I spoke to him, or he would’ve happily announced it.

[The man who declares himself a speed god, is many things but humble isn’t one of them.

If Barry really had access to the whole exchange, he’d know that though nasty, it wasn’t threatening.

Only people at SHIELD would know this Jemma Simmons, the one who came out after the inhuman crisis. She didn’t care about polite or friendly, just getting things done. ]

It was Mal who created the box to secure it, so again, he negated his responsibility there.

He’s been too busy getting into a pique, as well as having other people feel sorry for him, rather than focusing.

[Maybe if his message had come in before Julie’s, maybe if he hadn’t started with accusing her of wanting to do something she never said she wanted to do, but maybes aren’t possible.]

[Things that are borderline ultimatums? Those tend to come across as threatening. And given the moment, with emotions running high, this isn't the time to discuss maybes either. They have a crisis to deal with.] Thirty seconds after the lightning hit, thirty seconds after I showed him the cocoons we were talking with one another about how to help. He's been focused. We all have.

This wasn't his fault. This was a random lightning strike and we are working on helping the people who need it.

Well, 30 seconds after the lightning hit I was in one of those cocoons, so I've only been working on the various life-threatening issues for others since three days afterward.

And please learn the difference between fault and responsibility. One can not be at fault but still bear responsibility after the fact to stop it from occurring again.

[When she finds out the stone could remove powers, and it wasn't done immediately for Kevin, no one has yet to see the Simmons that scares the orderlies in the clinic yet.

Never mind the lie that he needed it for his power. It would also explain what she says next.]

While I understand you're just as anxious to keep the stone available for your power, it was you, and Julie, who interrupted my work, to protect the petulant adolescent, so I suggest you not distract yourselves again.

[Jemma's done. Considering all she knows Barry did to Savitar, she's a little amazed at how quickly he turned on her, who has done nothing but help him, to the person who caused his misery in the first place.

Lesson learned, Savitar is both petulant, and not be be trusted. He's only interested in those who will cater to him at any given moment. In other words, the same level as the orderlies who couldn't follow basic quarantine protocols.

Like with Julie, while any response from Barry will not be blocked, she won't respond again. She can't block anyone as that's unprofessional considering her position. Hell, she didn't even block Hester, and she tried to kill her. ]
