I didn't think I'd ever have kids, Jemma. I was pretty sure that I'd be dead or worse by the time I was thirty five, and before Nica my relationships never ended well. My best relationship before her was with my best friend, and he died. And before I came here, I don't even know if I would've been a good father. I have...had a tendency to get lost in my head. I still do, sometimes, but with the nanomites it's easier to pull me out of it. Remind me to send you a pdf of my old journal. It's...something.

I mean, there was a reason my dad retired early, and it wasn't because he got enough out of being a salesman.

You wouldn't do that to a kid, Jemma. I've seen how you are with Greene. And don't say it's not the same. He's not just a pet to you.

You're not allowed to die any time soon. I forbid it. It would be a shame, that if in any timeline Alice Rose didn't meet you.

Both of my last relationships ended with my being sucked into a stone, and the other turning to dust, literally. It doesn't make me anxious to try again, and nevermind with a kid. I couldn't recover from that. It's easier not to have people than lose people.

And I'd be really interested in seeing it.

Greene doesn't need me. He likes me. He stays because he wants to. If he wanted to go back to his mother, I'd let him. I can't return a kid to anyone.

If anything happens to me, you guys have my permission to get Eve or whoever else can do it bring me back. Fair enough?

My last relationship before Nica was with a vampire because it seemed less likely she'd die. Instead, she cheated on me and got mad because I hate being treated like a child.

And I love him. He's the best bunny to ever bunny but he's still far more independent. I'm not sure I wouldn't be a disappointment to Daisy.

No. Believe me, it was the other way around. He nearly died for me, several times, and all I could do was sputter at him like an idiot.

Well, not to sound all Hallmark Lifetime Movie or anything, but you can totally have that, I think this...thing is showing us.

My life has never been a hallmark movie, more something on an obscure channel or a rejected adventure of the Doctor's.
