In light of recent behaviors on the network, I'm afraid I don't feel comfortable working with you. I know this might come as a disappointment, but your attitude towards others doesn't sit well with me. It goes against everything I personally believe in when it comes to matters of humility and how to respond to others, even in the face of adversity.
I'm sure you'll be able to find another seamstress who will help you.
Are you seriously going to quit the chance of a lifetime because I didn't give people higher ratings for their appearance? Solely based on personal opinions.
[ It would be so easy to tell him about the business she ran since she was fourteen and how it got her her own castle at eighteen. And how there is still a backlog of orders to do. Or how she had her own store here and how it was successful. But that’s bragging. And he’d take it wrong. ]
Mr. Beck, this is Sheriff Prince. While courtesy is not part of the written laws of New Dodge, your lack of it has begun to escalate among the other residents of the town. I ask you to remember the old addage 'if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing'.
Mr Beck, they are ghosts and not residents of the town that are subject to
the law. Unless you happen to be on good terms with someone who speaks with
spirits, I suggest you invest in some earphones.
Hello, Mr. Beck. It's to my understanding that you're behind the events that unfolded yesterday.
I must say, it was incredibly impressive. Are you, per chance, looking for a career opportunity with one of the hauses? I understand Zombie isn't exactly one of the big hauses of influence, but we can still pay very handsomely.
Your work will even be based in New Dodge, on land that I hold for an ongoing project of mine.
Upon my offering assistance from my haus to New Dodge, I had asked for some land for use for a haunted house style attraction. Something intense that changes to match the time of year, or whatever strikes my fancy. I had been in a bit of trouble trying to figure something out that wouldn't potentially cause bodily harm, so I had come to town searching for inspiration.
Your show, as unfortunate an outcome in your views as it may have been, may have opened up many opportunities for creative freedom.
Well, it is a bit beneath my talents... but it can easily be done for entertainment purposes, using my technology and visual effects. Even some practical work.
You speak as if a haunted house by someone deemed 'The Violent Banshee' would be a simple one.
[There's a teasing scoff there]
I'll pay handsomely, of course, though I believe I'll need to speak with at least Allison, if not the entirety of whichever council. Sadly, I can see the reasonings for your current situation.
The only concern of mine would be to make sure there would be no harm coming to the patrons of the attraction.
I hope that this correspondence finds you well after the events of this past Monday. While it seems that those in your current home find your work appalling or even disturbing, rest assured! Not everyone in this galaxy finds this the case. Your work is absolutely remarkable, complete genius in my personal opinion. I don't understand how anyone in your town doesn't understand this, it must be so awful be so underappreciated. I only wish that we could do something to help you, but alas we have very little influence over the town council of New Dodge. At the moment.
My name is Irwin Deathwhisper, I am a representative of the Haus of the Black Door, fourth member of the 31st council of eight and landgrave of the planet Isolate. I have come to you, dear friend, with an offer of friendship and quite possibly a request for your technological assistance. Are you interested?
Funding, of course. I assume that you have an account at the Galactic Bank? If not, the Haus of the Black Door can very easily open one for you and provide with a good faith donation of 500 gold. I believe that is 250,000 of your earth dollars.
Would that satisfy your curiosity regarding our intentions, Mr Beck?
Regards, Irwin Deathwhisper, 4th of the 31st Council of Eight, Landgrave of Isolate
[There's a rather nice size box beautifully wrapped and left on Beck's doorstep.
Inside it contains almost two dozen different films each noted for their cutting edge graphics and tech skills, even if a few of them are classics at this point. Some of them might not be 'cutting edge' now persay, but at the time when they were made, they invented many new practices that paved the way for Beck to learn the skills he himself knows.
It's fairly obvious whoever gifted them put a fair amount of thought into the choices.
There is also several different types of gourmet popcorns and a little card saying to enjoy the gift.]
[There is nothing nefarious or wrong with any of the contents inside of the box. The person who left it simply wished to give Beck a little bit of good to go with all the bad he's been getting lately.
And they might also be hoping that it will keep him busy for a while]
[Well, that's very interesting... He's suspicious at first but soon is checking out the movies and getting very distracted in his time of house arrest. At least it's taking his mind off his bitterness and keeping him occupied and not lashing out at the town again.]
Congratulations, Mr Beck. Under the advisement of council and with the stipulation that you work on a way to stop parasites from being able to enter the dome or possibly just alert us to their prescence before things get out of hand, the last few weeks of your sentence have been waived.
And yes, I can certainly work on an alert system to keep this place safe from most threats. It would assist in this to have a list of those known that you have already experienced, so I can put that into the data.

(Understandable! He's a jerk!)
You will never succeed with that attitude.
Re: (Understandable! He's a jerk!)
It wasn’t the ratings.
Have a good day Mr Beck.

Re: 5/1
Your words are appreciated and that you can see what most others don't.
I am interested.
However.
How do I know this is not some new form of mockery and that you are being sincere?
